Heavy smog prompts Tangshan to order all sintering halted

 The local government of North China’s Tangshan city has ordered all sintering operations in the city halted for the rest of this year to help improve air quality, according to the latest announcement released late afternoon on Thursday.
The official notice received by some steel mills already instructed all local steel mills to totally suspend their sintering operations over December 20-31, Mysteel notes. However, those steelmakers responsible for providing heating to local communities in winter or will likely have technology issues
