Mysteel: Baosteel's Apr EXW prices and their implication on market trend
Baosteel raised prices for most products, but in a milder manner. According to a statement released by the steel giant, it raised hot-rolled products by 150 yuan/tonne, or 3.3% (versus a 4.5% rise for Mar), cold-rolled products by 150 yuan/tonne, or 3.2% (compared to a 4.4% rise for Mar), HDG by 200 yuan/tonne, or 4.0% (versus 4.6% for Mar), electro-galvanized products by 120 yuan/tonne, or 2.2% (versus 3.8% for Mar), and non-oriented silicon steel by 180 yuan/tonne, or 3.3%, on a monthly basis.
