China's MIIT sets 2013 outdated steel capacity elimination target at 6.98 mln T
China aims to close 6.98 mln tonnes of outdated steel capacity in a total of 24 steel companies this year, and will also wipe out 2.77 mln tonnes of outdated iron making capacity in nine plants, according to a statement released Thursday by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the country's industry watchdog.
